Transolite™ Construction

The i-dapz Active Eyewear System™ is made of Transolite, a thermoplastic polymer that is one of the lightest, most impact-resistant materials available today. This material has been expressly engineered for the purpose of performance and durability in outdoor environments. In both extreme high and low temperatures, Transolite shows outstanding resistance to corrosion and weathering. And Transolite bends instead of cracking or splitting, making the i-dapz Active Eyewear System frames, lenses and arms virtually indestructible!

Patented Design and Ultimate Convertibility

The i-dapz Active Eyewear System is the only eyewear designed to adapt to the many needs of active people. Innovative technology like our precision-molded frames, interchangeable arms and full-frame lenses, sport visor, and headband with side shields allow you to configure 18 different variations of sunglasses.

From casual driving in the sun to sports or high-speed activities where goggles are normally worn, i-dapz can "adapt in a snap" to meet your specific needs.

Patented design features like our interchangeable full-frame lens system with vise-lock enable your selected lenses to stay securely in place, even during sporting activities, while providing the look and style only available with full-frame glasses. Our patented Microslot adjustable arms provide a 19-position adjustment system so that the earpieces can be positioned for a comfortable and precise fit on any size head.

UV Protection and Light Equalization System (LES) Lenses

All i-dapz lenses meet the strictest government and commercial standards for protection from harmful ultraviolet rays – those invisible, high-energy light rays that, over time, can contribute to a number of serious eye disorders. i-dapz Enhancer, Limiter, and LES lenses each block 100% of UV-A and UV-B rays.

Developed and tested over many years, the i-dapz Light Equalization System (LES) lenses employ the most sophisticated optical engineering technology available today. When manufacturing the LES lenses, seven layers of micro-thin silicates and titanium dioxide are computer-applied to the Transolite amber lens in a super high-pressure vacuum chamber.

The result is a space-age light calibration system that interacts with the full spectrum of light, selectively blocking and filtering each wavelength so that only the most beneficial light is transmitted to the eyes under all types of lighting conditions. An anti-reflective coating on the reverse side of the lenses also blocks glare and back reflections. The LES lenses provide high contrast and crisp definition to the world around you, allowing your eyes to relax.

Optional Polarized Lenses

A polarized lens is a special kind of lens that filters the glare from scattered and reflected light. For example, if you look at water with the naked eye or with a standard lens, the surface of the water is reflecting light from all different directions so it's difficult to clearly see an object beneath the surface of the water. Polarized lenses include a special layer (with tiny baffles) that filters the glare from those reflected light rays so you can see below the surface of the water. Polarized lenses are ideal for driving or activities in water or snow where glare from reflected light is a problem.

High-impact, polarized polycarbonate lenses are available as a separate option for use with the i-dapz Active Eyewear System.
